The Main Library moved to its new headquarters in 2006. The library is conveniently located off route 202, at 449 Halsey Road. It is in walking distance of an elementary, middle and high school and is an easy walk for many of the customers who live in the our Lake Parsippany community and those who work at the Mack-Cali business campus. This new 38,000 square foot state of the art facility includes: a large meeting room with space for 200 participants; tutorial and small group study rooms; a technology lab; teen section; a huge children’s library and program room and a library filled with many resources for the adult borrower. The main library staff offers extensive free educational, technological and cultural programming for children and adults. The Main library serves as the headquarters to the Parsippany-Troy Hills library system. Library materials can be borrowed from any of our facilities and can be requested and picked up at the facility closest to your home!
The Lake Hiawatha library was established in 1937 but has occupied the present site since 1968. In 1994 the interior was renovated and expanded so that the library branch could better meet the needs of its neighborhood service area. The branch is located one block in from the busy business area of North Beverwyck Road, in close proximity to the Skate Park and community center, and is in walking distance for many of the residents of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany. Besides providing the traditional library resources, the branch offers many story times and after school and Saturday programs for children. The Branch staff cooperate with the Friends of the Library to sponsor a film discussion series moderated by a college professor.
Nestled in the Mount Tabor section of Parsippany, the Mount Tabor branch building occupied its present site since 1889. It is the smallest branch but is located in a beautiful setting near Trinity Park. Residents who live in the Mount Tabor section of Parsippany may walk to the branch. Parsippany residents from other parts of town may use the parking near the post office and walk up to the library. Story times and programs for school age children are offered by the branch staff. Large programs are conducted across the park in the Bethel. Adult monthly book clubs are conducted.
